Your Development The skills, knowledge and capabilities of our people are absolutely central to the success of WHK Gosling Chapman. So it should come as no surprise that we invest a great deal of time and energy in the ongoing development of everyone in the firm. Our progressive and proactive approach to continuous learning is designed to help you give the best possible service to clients, and to help you reach your own personal goals. Through professional standards such as Investors in People, ongoing training and internal staff forums, your feedback is integral to the success of the firm. Being a mid-tier firm that focuses on people, changes can be presented and implemented quickly. Naturally, each individual’s learning needs will be different and will also change over time. Your development programme will reflect your individual needs, taking account of your strengths and placing a training emphasis where you require it most. Supporting your progression It can be a daunting prospect to join a firm, start professional exam courses and manage your own career choices. That’s why we’ve created a thorough support network to give you advice and encouragement from the day you join. This support includes: Buddies Before you even enter the building, we will have assigned someone who has recently graduated to help you understand the culture and the goings-on of the firm. In fact, they will be your buddy from the moment you are accepted into the firm, even while you are at university. They will keep you up-to-date with company communications, answer questions you have, and welcome you to staff events. Mentors Again, each staff member is appointed a mentor. This person is generally in a managerial role and can guide you through your exams and through your career development, ensuring that your goals are achieved with ease. This is another case of creating a support network to help you grow and creating the best service for our clients. After all, we are nothing without our people.
